Autism Spectrum
Disorder Evaluations

Trained professionals can reliably diagnose ASD by the age of 18-24 months. The assessment procedure includes a thorough history of the child’s functioning since the prenatal period to the time of the assessment, as well as a family history of mental and medical illness. Standardized measures of infant/child development and parent-child observations are included in the assessment as well. A professional might sometimes request the parents’ permission to contact the child’s teacher and/or pediatrician/neurologist to obtain relevant information.
